Law Abiding Citizen Featurette

Ok, a featurette for Law Abiding Citizen was posted today, which gives me the opportunity to speculate on the movie... Let me just start out by saying, I love the concept of this movie and I love the cast selection... That being said, I don't think this movie is going to get good reviews... There are a few indicators. First, this type of plot and genre don't usually get good reviews. Second, their hasn't been any reviews on the film yet, which means that they aren't too confident in the film getting good reviews... Third, he uses the line "it's going to be biblical". That just shows bad writing right there, in my opinion. From what I've seen, I am positive I am going to enjoy the film, but I am almost certain it will receive a 17% on Rotten Tomatoes' tomatoe meter... This is one of those films you have to go into expecting nothing special and just enjoy what you see...
Official description of the film and the featurette are below...

Clyde Shelton (Gerard Butler) is an upstanding family man whose wife and daughter are brutally murdered during a home invasion. When the killers are caught, Nick Rice (Jamie Foxx), a hotshot young Philadelphia prosecutor, is assigned to the case. Over his objections, Nick is forced by his boss to offer one of the suspects a light sentence in exchange for testifying against his accomplice. Fast forward ten years. The man who got away with murder is found dead and Clyde Shelton coolly admits his guilt. Then he issues a warning to Nick: Either fix the flawed justice system that failed his family, or key players in the trial will die. Soon Shelton follows through on his threats, orchestrating from his jail cell a string of spectacularly diabolical assassinations that can be neither predicted nor prevented. Philadelphia is gripped with fear as Shelton’s high-profile targets are slain one after another and the authorities are powerless to halt his reign of terror. Only Nick can stop the killing, and to do so he must outwit this brilliant sociopath in a harrowing contest of wills in which even the smallest misstep means death. With his own family now in Shelton’s crosshairs, Nick finds himself in a desperate race against time facing a deadly adversary who seems always to be one step ahead.

Toy Story 3 Trailer

Here is the official trailer for Toy Story 3... The trailer doesn't seem to give away a lot, and actually jumps around a bit... But they really don't have to give away much, nor should they, because the title speaks for itself and will probably outsell every movie next year... It will be coming out June 18, 2010. A summer release of a series that has historically grabbed straight A's... If you look at the trends of Pixar's summer releases, you can see that they gross a ton of money, and are usually up there in the top ten of highest grossing films of the year... All of Pixar's recent releases have been original movies... Now throw in Toy Story 3, which, by now has a loyal adult fan base because the original came out in 1995... So now not only will Pixar get all of the family audiences that were just looking to see a movie, but now you got a fan base looking to see the next installment... I predict that Toy Story 3 will top the charts next year...
Official film description and hd trailer below...

The creators of the beloved “Toy Story” films re-open the toy box and bring moviegoers back to the delightful world of Woody, Buzz and our favorite gang of toy characters in TOY STORY 3. Woody and Buzz had accepted that their owner Andy would grow up someday, but what happens when that day arrives? In the third installment, Andy is preparing to depart for college, leaving his loyal toys troubled about their uncertain future. Lee Unkrich (co-director of “Toy Story 2” and “Finding Nemo”) directs this highly anticipated film, and Michael Arndt, the Academy Award®-winning screenwriter of “Little Miss Sunshine,” brings his unique talents and comedic sensibilities to the proceedings.

Four Franchises Go For Four Movies

Found this article about 4 major franchises adding 4th installments... The Lord of the Rings will be adding The Hobbit. X-Men is looking to add another film to its line, either with an X-Men: The New Class series or some other continuation. I don't think we are counting the origins stories here. The Spiderman series will be expanded to 4. I'm guessing there is going to be like 4 villains in this one... Plus there is a Venom story being worked on. Finally the Pirates of the Caribbean series will add Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides to its line of movies... I'm always excited for an addition to these series, but I know there are a lot of people that don't want to see these movies made(besides The Hobbit). I can see why there would be some resistance since each series' 3rd film got the worst reviews, respectively(minus The Lord of the Rings)... Doesn't bother me though, I'd like to see them fix their mistakes...
